Crash on selecting git binary
Reported by coordinated | March 15th, 2009 @ 03:36 PM
Have just started using GitX, and it looks really promising :-)
I found a couple of bugs...
I'm using 10.5.6 (latest updates). I downloaded GitX 0.6.1, dragged the .app to Applications, started it, selected preferences, saw that it hadn't found MacPorts' git (/opt/local/bin/git) and clicked the Choose button. GitX crashed.
I haven't been able to reproduce the crash; I deleted Library/Preferences/nl.frim.GitX.plist are restarted GitX, and everything worked as expected.
I'm attaching the Crash Reporter log, together with the GitX entries in system.log (as there seem to be lots of malloc warnings).
(GitX has also hung - but I can't find a way to reproduce this - and I forgot to take a sample before force-quitting it ... which I'll do if happens again).
Apologies if this isn't sufficiently helpful, but figured I should report it anyway.
Best wishes, Steve

Yes, I encoutered this too :( It's odd, but after the initial try I couldn't reproduce it either.
My guess is that something is wrong in the path (de)serializer. Unfortunately I didn't create that code. It's not very high on my priority list (as you may have seen there's a HUGE number of open tickets :( ), but I'll keep this open for when I encouter it again.
