Gitx failing - after Gitx and Git upgade
Reported by Barry Hess | October 6th, 2009 @ 07:24 PM
Previously I was on Gitx 0.7 and working fine. My Git version was < 1.6. I auto-updated to Gitx 0.7.1 and it suddenly wouldn't open with a Git version < 1.6. So I upgraded Git to 1.6.4. Still no dice.
I had a friend send me an older Gitx binary and that does not appear to work anymore, either. I believe it is version 0.6.3. I'm not sure how to get older versions of the binaries through your sites, else I'd give those a try.
Here is the error I'm currently seeing when I call "gitx" from within any repository:
$ gitx 2009-10-06 12:23:58.182 gitx[25010:10b]
LSOpenFromURLSpec() returned -10810 for application

urls .
Couldn't connect to app server!
Gitx version: 0.7.1
Git version: 1.6.4
OS X version: 10.5.7

sounds like an old gitx version might still be running, or something.
Perhaps the upgrade process failed? Can you try rebooting or killing
existing gitx processes, or otherwise downloading a fresh copy from
gitx.frim.nl? -

I had attempted reinstalling a few times before. But updated my binary one more time and rebooted...and things are working. Thank you for the help!
