Long tag names do not appear in history view
Reported by Daz Oakley | December 23rd, 2009 @ 12:17 PM
Hi,
Thanks for making such a great program - it's by far and away my favorite git gui out there. :)
I have noticed one small bug though, our automated deployment scripts tend to produce rather long tag names when we tag a commit for staging or production. The staging ones show up fine in history view, but the tags for a production release are nowhere to be seen. Is there any way this could be fixed?
Here are some example tags:
- sanger_mouse_portal-staging-2009-12-23.1 - this shows up
- sanger_mouse_portal-production-2009-12-23.1 - this does not
Thanks, if you need any more information please let me know. Oh, I'm using the current stable release 0.7.1.
Darren

Just tried it again with Nathan's branch. If the tag gets too long (or the window to narrow), the tag does indeed disappear in the list of commits. However it will always be visible in the diff window.
The upshot of the current behaviour is that we never get scrollbars in the commit list.
For most people such long tag names are probably purely academic, this is why I will mark this as resolved (unless you have objections).

Ahh, that sounds like reasonable behaviour to me.
Nope no objections here, thanks for the update. :)
